While the NBA is focused on the 2018 NBA Draft and Kawhi Leonard’s situation in San Antonio, the biggest news of the offseason will still be LeBron James’ decision.
Since the end of the 2018 NBA Finals, where James and the Cavaliers were swept in four games by the Golden State Warriors, there has been speculation about whether James will stay in Cleveland or go elsewhere to pursue another championship.
James has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Philadelphia 76ers, among others but it appears as though only two teams may be in the sweepstakes for the forward.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, James has narrowed down his list to two teams: the Cavaliers and the Lakers. Windhorst claims that the thought process for James is based mostly on the cities that he and his family would want to live in.
It’s important to note that Windhorst seems to be speculating on this. LeBron has never been one to come to a hasty decision nor are his decisions leaked early.
Nevertheless, this is a promising sign for a Lakers front office hoping to hit a home run with James, Leonard, and Paul George this offseason.
