NBA Free Agency Rumor: LeBron James’ son committed to Los Angeles school

As the next few weeks unfold there will be countless rumors about where LeBron James will be playing basketball next season, so many rumors that it’s going to be nauseating. However, when it comes to where the best player in the world will be taking his talents, any little details or hints will be looked at.

After finishing the season with a disappointing sweep in the NBA Finals, there is plenty of speculation that James could leave his hometown for the second time. When asked about his free agency decision, James noted that family will be a massive piece of what he ultimately decides to do. There have also been reports that family could be the only thing that would keep the 33-year old in Cleveland.

However, some members of his family could be headed out west already. In a recent interview with Out the Blocks with Sheena Marie (h/t LeBronWire for transcribing the interview), former NBA all-star and former Laker, Gary Payton stated that LeBron’s son is already committed to going to school at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles.

If LeBron’s son is already set up to attend a school in Los Angeles this likely just adds to the smoke coming from the LeBron-to-LA fire. It is very apparent that James is a family guy who will likely try to be around his son as much as possible as he enters his high school years.

The Lakers are going to pull out all the stops in order to obtain James once July 1st rolls around. The team will have two max contract spots in order to surround James with another star but persuading James to join will be easier said than done. Nonetheless, with his family being a huge part of the free agency process for LeBron, a home in Brentwood, and his son set to attend a school in Los Angeles, the Lakers could very well be a landing spot for the star forward.
