When I started writing about sports a few years ago, I did not expect to include the words Lakers, Lithuania, and hip-hop in one headline. But here we are.

Lithuania just hosted its M.A.M.A awards, something like the Grammy’s, and of course, LaVar Ball was involved as he made an appearance on the show. The elder Ball is currently in Lithuania as his other sons LiAngelo and LaMelo are playing professional basketball in the European country.

But LaVar’s appearance on the music awards show was not a surprise (in fact, given his propensity for being brash and outspoken, we should have seen this coming from a mile away). The real surprise was a pre-taped message from Lakers’ rookie Lonzo Ball who announced that he would be putting on a rap concert in Lithuania over the summer.

Everything about this is perfect.

In the words of a wise, immortal poet, Lithuania is indeed lit.

Zo has made a lot of music already in his short career and he can definitely spit some rhymes. Putting on a full-fledged concert is a different concept entirely, of course, but if anyone can do it, it’s the Big Baller Brand.
