After winning Rookie of the Month for October/November, it seems like everybody around the league has something good to say about Lakers’ forward Kyle Kuzma. Franchise legend Kobe Bryant is no exception, and he talked about Kuzma and his dinner with the rookie in an interview on Spectrum SportsNet.
This is just a segment from the interview that has yet to air, but Kobe had some very kind words for the young Laker.
“Lot of GMs are kicking themselves over that one. He was extremely articulate and very inquisitive, and that’s the best trait to have is curiosity, because you want to know why things work. You wanna know why things happen, how things happen. When you have that kind of curiosity, you’re constantly seeking ways to improve, mentally and physically. That’s the thing that jumped out at me the most.”
While most considered Lonzo Ball to be the Lakers best rookie at the start of the year, Kyle Kuzma has certainly proved himself as a valuable asset to the team, and likely a central building block around which the Lakers will construct their future. Time will tell, but I think it’s safe to say that Kuzma has the Bean’s blessing and will stick around for a long time to come.
[…] Bryant recently admired rookie Kyle Kuzma for his curiosity about basketball and how to improve his game when the two had dinner together. […]
