A night that started with plenty of expectations as the Los Angeles Lakers opened the 2017-18 season at home against the Los Angeles Clippers ended in depressing fashion as the Lakers were blown out, 108-92.
As will likely be the case often this season, Brook Lopez led the team in scoring with 20 points while Larry Nance finished with a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 18 points off the bench.
In their debuts, Lonzo Ball finished with three points, nine rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes while Kyle Kuzma finished with eight points and four rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench as well.
As good as the individual lines may look, though, the Lakers were hardly in the game on the night as the Clippers took 107 field goals and held the Lakers to 40.7 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from three.
Taking all that into consideration, the guys offer a quick recap of the game, both good and bad, while previewing Friday’s battle with the Suns.
