Media day started off with Lakers GM Rob Pelinka talking about the offseason, notable players, and the new training facility. One of the players that he touched on was 2016 second overall pick Brandon Ingram.
Brandon was just a beast the way he worked this offseason…The way he was working in the weight room and on the court, he’s a leader. He definitely has that Magic Johnson Kobe Bryant mentality about him where if he sees you in his way he’s going to find a way through you.

He didn’t explicitly call him untouchable today, but his remarks seem to echo what Magic and others have said throughout the offseason, that he is special and his work ethic is amazing. He mentioned that he’s one of the leaders on the team
Expectation for Ingram: “Leadership. He’s one of our other leaders. The way he’s done it, he is fiercely competitive. He’s going at you."

Ingram being a leader at only 20 years old is remarkable and that speaks volumes to the type of person that he is. After a lackluster rookie year Ingram looks to be trying to bounce back in a big way.
