The Los Angeles Lakers are going into training camp with the maximum 20 players but that doesn’t mean they are completely done with setting the roster.

According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, the Lakers have reached out to Dwyane Wade in gauging his interest towards signing with them.

Wade was bought out of his contact with the Chicago Bulls earlier on Sunday. The veteran shooting guard averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists per game while shooting only 43 percent from the field.

The Lakers have previously been reported to be interested in the former Heat superstar’s services. Much of that interest stems from his friendship with LeBron James, the Lakers’ biggest target in free agency in 2018.

Wade seems to have plenty of options with the Cavaliers, Spurs, Heat, and Thunder all rumored as potential destinations. Each offer their own strengths to him.

The Lakers are not a prime destination if Wade wants to win and they cannot offer much money but if he wants to live in California and set up shop in hopes that LeBron joins him in a year, there is a chance that Wade finds himself on the roster. The Lakers would have to release a player in order to make that possible.
