Podcast: Los Angeles Lakers 2017 Free Agency Preview

The Los Angeles Lakers have certainly had themselves an eventful beginning to the 2017 NBA offseason.

After sputtering through another disappointing season in terms of wins and losses — especially after a hot start —  the team went into the end of spring and beginning of summer with a lot of question marks about the direction that new president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka would take the franchise.

The new regime experienced the same NBA Draft Lottery luck as years past, landing the No. 2 overall pick, leading to Lonzo Ball becoming the next Lakers point guard after D’Angelo Russell was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. With four prospects in all becoming members of the Lakers, the next stop on the offseason task list is the free agency period that opens up at 9:01 PM PST on June 30.

The Lakers have been open about saving their salary cap space for the summer of 2018, but could things change if a star player shows interest this summer? Will they finally bring Paul George home or wait until a year from now? There are plenty of free agency questions to be answered in the next few days and the guys discuss what fans might need to expect.
