It was outlandish to consider any other possibilities, but Anthony Davis reaffirmed the notion that he wants to stay in New Orleans. The reason for thinking otherwise stemmed from a rumor early in the week saying Davis and Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook were planning on joining up with the Lakers.
Davis was quick about killing that rumor in an interview with Sirius XM NBA, expressing that he wants to stay with his current team and win championships.

As Davis mentioned, he recently signed an extension with the Pelicans, locking him up with the team until 2021. Until then, the only way the Lakers could obtain Davis would be to throw the kitchen sink at the Pelicans in hopes of them accepting a trade.
We didn’t have much of a chance of getting him.
