At roughly the mid-point of the preseason, the Los Angeles Lakers have made their first roster moves as they announced the waiving of three players on Wednesday morning.
The Lakers announce they have waived Zach Auguste, Julian Jacobs and Travis Wear. Roster down to 17.

The moves should not come as a shock to many. While Auguste had a little more fanfare than the others coming into training camp, his lack of playing time was a clear indicator that his days with the Lakers were numbered this preseason.
We took a look earlier this week at the potential Laker cuts with all three of these players listed as on the outside looking in.
Wear and Jacobs each saw limited time on the court this preseason with neither standing out in particular. Auguste did not see time on the court after spending the summer with the Lakers’ Summer League team.
All three of the players could find their way to the Lakers’ D-League team, the D-Fenders, should they be interested.
This move leaves the rosters with two cuts remaining with that decision likely coming down to Metta World Peace, Thomas Robinson, Marcelo Huertas and Yi Jianlian. The Lakers must be down to 15 by opening night on October 26.
