The Las Vegas summer league needs to hurry up and come sooner.
The Lakers announced their summer league schedule will start on July 8th against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers’ summer league team will be one of the most exciting teams in Vegas, with the roster set to include D’Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, Larry Nance Jr. and Anthony Brown.
Summer league is still a couple of weeks away, and most of us are hungry for some basketball. D’Angelo Russell satisfied a bit of that appetite tonight by appearing in the Kentuckiana Pro-Am Summer League event.

Apparently, Russell was an absolute beast in the two games he played tonight. Russell had 41 points in the first game and followed that performance with a 39-point game in the second slate.

It’s cool to hear that Russell destroyed his competitors, regardless if it was Pro-Am game or not. The Lakers love his competitive nature, and I think he displayed that at the two games.
Russell has been working on his strength all summer long, and I think it is starting to pay off. Just check out this dunk he threw down at the event.
