Report: Kobe Bryant “Mega-story” about to break

There is never a dull moment in the land of the Los Angeles Lakers. Even when the team is struggling, the Lakers never fail to make headlines.

Over the last twenty years, the headlines have usually revolved around Kobe Bryant. Tuesday proved to be no different. According to Colin Cowherd, there’s a big story surrounding the Lakers star that is about to break. Here is what Cowherd had to say on his show:

The TMZ story he is referring to is an incident between Kobe and former teammate Samaki Walker back during the latter’s run with the team between 2001 and 2003.

No offense to Colin, but his “reports” on the Lakers have generally been completely off-base in the past. He reported earlier this year that the Lakers wanted to trade Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance, Jr., and D’Angelo Russell. Cowherd alluded that the Lakers only had a desire to keep Julius Randle, which, is true to a certain degree because all reports have indicated that they absolutely do not want to trade Randle. But there is no way the Lakers want to part ways with the rest of their young core. It’s been about two months since that “report” and there has been absolutely no chatter of it.

It might be just a ploy to attract one of the largest fan bases in all of sports to his show, but who knows. It will be something to keep an eye on over the next couple of days or so, but it’s always wise to take Cowherd’s reports on the Lakers with a massive grain of salt.
