The start of the 2015-16 regular season for the Los Angeles Lakers has been a nightmare. The team made their lone trip to Dallas this season to take on the Mavericks for the second time overall this year, and the dread continued.
The Lakers concluded a five-game road trip with a 90-82 loss to the Mavs, letting a number of opportunities to take control of the game slip through their fingers … literally. Los Angeles turned the ball over 20 times, with a few costly blunders down the stretch. They cut the deficit to one in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t quite get over the top and finish out the game strong.
Kobe Bryant returned to the lineup and had one of his best games of the season thus far with 19 points on seven-of-15 shooting, five rebounds and three assists. Jordan Clarkson also had a bounce back performance with 21 points on nine-of-18 shooting, while D’Angelo Russell chipped in nine points (three-of-seven shooting), six rebounds and five assists in 23 minutes.
It was an ugly game on both sides, as each team shot under 37 percent from the field. In the end, the Lakers fell to 1-8 and now head home to take on the 5-3 Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
