Another day, another former Los Angeles Lakers champion attempting an NBA comeback. After news broke out that former All-Star Andrew Bynum is scheduling workouts with NBA teams, it has been reported that Sasha Vujacic is attending some workouts of his own.

According to RealGM, Vujacic worked out for New Orleans Pelicans on Monday and will work out for the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

Playing primarily off the bench, Vujacic was a major part of the depth that allowed the Lakers to reach three straight Finals and win back-to-back NBA championships. Vujacic spent just over seven seasons with the Lakers before being traded to the New Jersey Nets during the 2010-11 season. In his time in Los Angeles, the shooting guard averaged 4.9 points per game while shooting 37.1 percent from behind the arc.

The Lakers have not been reported to show any interest in Vujacic or Bynum at the moment but they do have an open roster spot created by buying out Luol Dengā€™s contract. The teamā€™s two biggest needs are depth at the center position and shooting prowess on the wings.

Vujacic last played in the NBA in 2017 with the New York Knicks but was in the league for only two of the previous five seasons. He has been playing internationally in that time, most recently with Auxilium Torino in Italy.
