Despite the organizational chaos that has been surrounding the Lakers over the past several months, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel calls for the franchise for “organizational togetherness” to foster success.

Vogel also spoke highly about the positive experience he had with the Laker during the hiring process, challenging the negative perception that is being thrown at the franchise.
Frank Vogel: “The perception of our organization is very different from the reality that I’ve experienced in my time here … There’s a positive vibe with our team right now”

Vogel’s poignant statement about togetherness comes at a fraught time for the Lakers franchise. A few hours before the press conference, Magic Johnson called out Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka for the constant “backstabbing” he endured during his time as the team’s president of basketball operations.
Vogel’s call for the Lakers to move toward a collaborative franchise that is open and transparent with each other starts with the top of the franchise, Jeanie Buss. During the press conference, Pelinka outlined the chain of command within the Lakers organization.

Ultimately, the final basketball decision belongs to Jeanie. If the Lakers want to follow Vogel’s suggestion on organizational togetherness, then everyone, including Jeanie, needs to be on the same page in order for the team to move forward successfully.
