The game started off in a completely different way than the last time the Lakers played Orlando. They didn’t get blocked 50 million times and scored 40 points in the first quarter. Julius Randle was the leading scorer with 11 points

The second quarter was much different than the first as the Lakers only scored 22 points and ended up letting Orlando get close as the first half ended 62-60.

The Lake Show started to pull away in the third quarter ending it with a nine-point lead. The fourth quarter was very similar as they started to blow out Orlando and after some garbage time points by Orlando the game ended with the Lakers winning 111-95. The Lakers have now won three out of the past four games and are only two games back of the eighth seed in the West.

Top Performers

Brandon Ingram:

Ingram tied his career high of 17 points for the third time this season and did everything correctly. Some nights he looks like a guard with his playmaking, and other nights he shows off his coring with fancy post moves and three point shooting. Today he showed all of it. He had a couple of jaw-dropping post moves and euro steps to go along with fantastic playmaking and three point shooting. On top of this he played phenomenal defense and had one block to prevent a field goal.

This game showed a glimpse into the future and it should make fans excited. He may be a very raw player physically, but he has the basketball IQ to put it all together and it shows in flashes every now and then.

He is also supposedly the suspected thief of one of Nick Young’s socks so maybe that gave him good luck in tonights game.

D’ANGELO RUSSELL:

D’Angelo had one of his best games of the season in terms of overall impact. He didn’t score 30+ or have an ice in your veins moment but he impacted the game all around. He had a block and three steals to go along with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

He has looked noticeably healthier as of late  with an added boost of explosiveness that wasn’t present earlier in the season when he was battling a knee injury. He’s been scoring better and he’s lowered his turnovers as of late with less than two turnovers per game in the last 9 games. He’s been great and his stats show it.

Julius Randle:

Julius Randle must love being a father because ever since his child was born he’s been phenomenal. Today was no exception as he had 11 points and 4 assists in the first quarter alone. He didn’t keep up that pace the rest of the game, but he ended up having a great game either way.

Randle is getting better each game and doesn’t look to slow down and he finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The biggest thing that stands out to me is the assists. A Power forward with five assists is huge but the fun part about Randle is five assists has been the norm. His playmaking is getting better and he’s starting to become consistent with his passing.
