With the draft now concluded and Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac the newest members of the Los Angeles Lakers, it’s time to shift focus towards Summer League.
The Lakers will be playing in Las Vegas starting on July 8 and the roster they will use is beginning to take form.
Ingram and Zubac will join incumbent Lakers D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Brown, and Larry Nance, Jr. We now know the name of the next player to join this core in Vegas:

Zach Auguste is 6’10” power forward out of Notre Dame. The 22-year-old was the 76th best prospect on DraftExpress’ big board. Known as being a high-motor and energetic big man, Auguste is strong and mobile. His fluidity as well as his ability to leverage his strength should bode well for him defensively right away.
Offensively, Auguste was a monster around the rim in his time at Notre Dame, shooting 72.7% in those areas in the half court, per DX. That said, he is a very raw talent on that end of the floor, with no real post-up game or jump-shooting to speak of.
The big man was productive at Notre Dame averaging 14 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in 29.6 minutes last season.
In essence, Auguste is a center in a power forward’s body. He does not project as a very high-ceiling player, but does have a high floor at least as an energetic big man off the bench. He is not a liability on either end of the floor and if he plays well enough in LVSL, he may have a real chance of making the official roster.
