On Monday, LeBron James was in Akron, Ohio helping introduce his most recent contribution to his hometown. In conjunction with his foundation, the Los Angeles Lakers star has helped build a new public school to help at-risk children in the third and fourth grades.

The school is just the latest in a long history of social activism from James whose own childhood experiences inspired his decision to those walking in his former footsteps.

The IPROMISE school will serve a total of 240 kids with a variety of amenities and services to ensure they earn an education while staying out of troubles that can overcome underprivileged children.

James’ decision resonated with plenty of people whether they could relate to being in the same situation as those students or not. Many NBA players, ranging from current teammates to rivals, took to social media to praise the King’s latest achievement and speak out about how inspirational it is.
