Lamar Odom says he was not involved in an altercation at a Hooters in Queens, that was reported by TMZ Sports. The altercation escalated towards shots being fired from a gun but fortunately no one was harmed. Odom claimed later on his Twitter feed that he was merely a bystander.

TMZ reported that Odom was leaving the restaurant with friends before getting in a verbal confrontation with another group. Someone in the second group pulled out his gun and fired into the air. Police were called to the scene but are still searching for the shooter. No arrests have been made.

According to TMZ, Odom is not being charged with anything and has been cooperative with law enforcement.

The former Los Angeles Lakers big man has had a history of troubling developments in his life. He has most recently been recovering from a drug overdose that saw him placed in a coma several years ago.

Odom had seemingly turned the corner. It does not appear as though he had a role in the most recent altercation. The incident occurred on July 20th.

The two-time NBA champion’s social media seems to indicate that he is travelling or moving to China to pursue business interests.
