Report: Shabazz Muhammad considering joining Lakers

This late into the offseason there are very few intriguing free agents left but one of them might be joining the Lakers.

According to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders, former Minnesota Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad and the Lakers might have mutual interest.

The former UCLA Bruin could come back to Los Angeles but has also been linked to a few other teams during since free agency has begun.

The team does have $4.3 million left (the room exception) that they could use to sign Muhammad if both parties are seriously interested. The Lakers only have 14 guaranteed contracts so they could add Muhammad without having to lose any of those guys. However, that would mean that camp invites like Vander Blue and Briante Weber would likely have no shot at a regular season roster spot. The team also has one two-way contract remaining.

In 19 minutes per game last year Muhammad averaged 9.9 points on 48 percent from the field and 2.8 rebounds.
