Lakers Outsiders Update: We Need Your Help

Dear loyal readers, followers, and exceptionally good-looking people,

In the years that Lakers Outsiders has been active, we have been committed to being a proficient and unique source of Lakers coverage for fans. In short, we have tried to bring the fans’ perspective into our content, from analyzing the news, presenting editorials on topical issues, or even bringing humor and satire into the Lakers world.

Creating and presenting all of this has not always been easy. It’s required a lot of time and energy from a lot of hardworking people without much reward. But the work has paid off in some regards. We’ve had our best year to date in terms of traffic on the site and engagement on social media and have been growing steadily for months.

However, it is still far away from where we want to be. As we continue to grow, we are realizing the need for outside help in being able to continue bringing the best coverage we can to all of our loyal and beloved readers. That includes financial help for a site that does not currently earn much money at all.

That’s why we are asking for your help. We are hoping that we have proven ourselves enough in our time as an all-encompassing blog that some of you will be willing to help us with donations. As such, we have set up a Patreon page (which can be found here) that will allow those of you who are able and willing to help to give us any amount you see fit as a monthly payment. Any amount at all, no matter how small or how large, would be of tremendous help to us in improving our site to bring you the best content that we can provide.

Seeing as this is a big thing to ask of strangers from the internet, we believe it is important to list the things for which we would like to use these funds. Our priority is upgrading the website itself including tools that will help us break news faster as well as get our material to a wider audience. Attached to this idea is a potential redesign of the site to make it more professional and easier to navigate for all of our readers. Any additional funding can be used for equipment, software, printing, and anything we can think of to improve the experience for all of you.

In addition to our gratitude, we are hoping to eventually be able to provide some exclusive content as a “reward” for those of you who are willing to provide to our cause. However, this is something that is still in the works and that we are busy planning so that we can show our appreciation in the best way possible.

We are growing as a site just as the Lakers are growing on the court. And much like the Lakers, we are extremely blessed to have a loyal audience that has followed us through the good and bad times. We want to continue growing, improving ourselves as a site, improving each individual as a writer, editor, graphic designer, and more, and continue bringing you the Lakers’ coverage (in all facets) that you deserve.
