Report: Lakers, Thomas Bryant agree to two-year deal

In likely their final move of the off-season, the Los Angeles Lakers and forward Thomas Bryant have reached an agreement on a two-year with a team option for the second year.

The deal was made with a focus on the summer of 2018 as the Lakers continue to look to maximize their cap space for next summer. By giving Bryant a full guarantee for the upcoming season, they were able to make next year a team option, giving them more flexibility as they continue to chase the dream of landing two max free agent players.

With the Lakers’ Summer League team, Bryant averaged 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game. With a crowded front court and in need of consistent playing time, Bryant will likely see a fair amount of time with the Lakers’ G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
