Listen, we both know how this goes at this point.

There’s a new Paul George report. This has become our daily “what is Paul George’s camp saying today” piece.

Today, it sounds like Paul George wants to be in Los Angeles still, according to Tania Gangulia of the L.A. Times.

According to people not authorized to speak publicly, George, a Palmdale native, is still telling friends that he intends to be a Laker in 2018. Because of that, he knows the Lakers have little incentive to trade for him now.

This comes about a day after Mark Medina reported the Lakers aren’t expecting to land Paul George via trade. That came out right after a report suggested George would re-sign with a team traded to. That one came right after it was reported that George was talking to Klay Thompson about joining the Lakers, a report that surfaced just after it came out the Pacers were still determined to trade Paul George.

Listen, we’re all tired of Paul George rumors. What appears to be happening is the Lakers are losing steam in the trade market and George’s camp is doing damage control of sorts as a result. The Lakers aren’t going to land George by trade. George’s camp wants it to be known that changes nothing for the future.

You get the picture. I get the picture. This story should be going away as it relates to the Lakers. I sure hope it does because it’s exhausting to continually aggregate this stuff.
