The NBA draft is just days away, which means the rumors and smoke screens are picking up traction and momentum. There is reportedly a clear consensus that the Lakers are favoring Lonzo Ball with their second overall pick, but it seems like the Phoenix Suns are intrigued by Ball as well.

According to Chad Ford of ESPN, the Suns are navigating a course to move up to take Ball.

ā€œThe Suns have been trying to trade up and have had conversations with both the Lakers and Celtics. Who are they after? Sources point to Ball as the target.ā€

The Suns have the fourth pick in this upcoming draft, two spots behind the Lakers and one spot behind the Celtics. One would assume that if the Suns want a chance to take Ball, they would have to strike a deal with the Lakers first. Since Los Angeles is keen on Ball themselves, it may take a sizable offer from Phoenix.

If the Lakers are still split on Ball and Josh Jackson, as was reported recently, then moving down to the fourth pick while maintaining a chance at landing Jackson could also be intriguing.

The Lakers have also explored the idea of trading the pick themselves with the Suns and Kings being reported potential suitors.

Ball would be a great fit for the Lakers and the Suns. The draft is three days away, so expect these talks and rumors to increase.
