After meeting with Washington guard Markelle Fultz on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly scheduled to meet with De’Aaron Fox at the NBA Draft Combine on Thursday.

The Lakers’ interest in Fox was made more apparent earlier this week with Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding reporting that the Lakers are interested in Fox with their top-three pick.

Fox and Fultz are likely the two best players at the Draft Combine with Lonzo Ball and Josh Jackson choosing not to attend the combine.

Fox burst onto many team’s scene late in the year as he scored 39 points in Kentucky’s win over UCLA while holding Ball to just 10 points. While Fox was considered a sure-fire lottery pick, strong play to end the season saw him shoot up draft boards.

On the season, Fox averaged 22.6 points, 6.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Concerns about Fox are centered around his jump shot as he attempted just 69 threes and shot 24.6 percent from beyond the arc.

For the Lakers, the group of Luke Walton, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka are in Chicago for the Combine and will get ample time for first impressions on Fox and Fultz. Neither guard, however, will be participating in the Combine’s 5-on-5 games.
