Kobe Bryant’s ‘Dear Basketball’ poem was everything you could have expected from Bryant. It was eloquent, well expressed, and vivid. Now that the reason behind the poem has come to fruition and Kobe is retired, Bryant has ventured into many different business ventures– including film.
Bryant’s poem has been transformed into a short animated film and will debut at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, according to Adweek.com. The film will be directed by Disney’s Glen Keane and scored by John Williams, best known for his work with Star Wars, as well as Superman, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter. “Dear Basketball is the perfect tribute to something I’ve loved for so long,” said Bryant. “Glen and John are two legends in their industries, so to partner with them on the creative process is a dream come true.”
The film festival starts on April 19th, ending on the 30th.
