Preview: Lakers look to rebound against a tough Spurs squad

The Lakers look to rebound after a tough loss to the Blazers on Tuesday as they travel to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. This is the second matchup of the season between these two storied franchises.

In the last matchup the Lakers were able to stay in contention throughout the majority of the game by the efforts of 3 players scoring over 20 points and a 13/9/7 game from Julius Randle.

The Lakers were without D’Angelo Russell for their last game against the Spurs and while he will play in tonight’s matchup he may not be 100% healthy as he has does have a jammed finger.

D’Angelo isn’t the only one with an ailment as Brandon Ingram has a sprained left wrist. He reportedly injured it yesterday but didn’t feel pain until today. He is getting X Rays on his wrist so whether he plays will be a game time decision. It would be a shame if he can’t play as he’s having the best stretch of his career as of late and Kawhi versus Ingram would’ve been a treat.

(Editor’s Note: Ingram will indeed play after his X-Rays came back negative)

Tonight’s goal is obviously winning but the main thing to look out for is how the Lakers respond to the last game. They basically gave up in the second half of the game and showed no teamwork at all. The Spurs are the epitome of teamwork and it will bode well for their future if the Lakers can respond back with strong play against a tough Spurs team.

Tonight’s rematch begins at 5:30 PM PST and will be televised on Spectrum SportsNet.
