After one of their best performances of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Lakers traveled up North to take on the Portland Trail Blazers in a building that has haunted the purple and gold for years.
After a slow start, Los Angeles came out firing in the second quarter, erasing a five-point deficit, heading into halftime with a 62-53 lead. The second half saw both teams battle back and forth until the Lakers unraveled a bit in the final minutes, hoisting up threes and failing to get defensive stops. The Lakers put forth a solid effort, but ended up falling again in Portland by a final score of 118-109.
A surprising 20-point performance from Evan Turner proved to be the difference for Portland, especially in the fourth quarter. The Blazers shot 53 percent as a team, yet the Lakers had their chances to earn a win on the road. Is that a positive sign or a concerning one?
