Lakers Injury Roundup: D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young return to practice

The Los Angeles Lakers have lost four consecutive games, courtesy of a brutal stretch in their schedule combined with a handful of injuries to key players. Starting Friday against the Suns, the schedule starts to ease up a bit for the purple and gold with some very winnable games, although a seven-game road trip is lurking.

But how close are they to having a healthy lineup again? Very. Mike Trudell reports that both D’Angelo Russell (knee) and Nick Young (calf) have returned to practice.

It was to be expected that they would both miss tonight’s game against the Suns. Saturday’s practice will be telling, as Trudell also noted that head coach Luke Walton wants to see them participate in a competitive practice before playing.

Tarik Black and Jose Calderon are both out as well tonight, but it appears the Lakers are very close to getting two of their starters back. If the team wants to get their surprising start back on track, they will need to get healthy again, and keep it that way.
