Lakers Officially Sign Brandon Ingram to Rookie Deal

Update: Brandon Ingram has signed his rookie contract. Basketball Insiders’ Eric Pincus drew up the unofficial terms of Ingram’s deal.

Original Story Follows:

With the second pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select…Brandon Ingram from Duke University. When it came to signing the second-overall pick, the Lakers waited until the virtually last second. According to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, he will *officially* be a Laker on Tuesday.

We just had to wait for Yi’s signing to become official.

All jokes aside, Ingram is a welcomed addition to the Lakers. Adding length, shooting, and basketball intangibles, Ingram will be a big part of the Lakers’ grand scheme moving forward.

Having already gone through Summer League ball and the U.S.A. Basketball practices as a member of their Select Team without signing, Ingram will finally ink his name on the dotted line, officially becoming a Los Angeles Laker.

Ingram will wear #14, but he’s already (rightfully) #1 in some fans’ hearts.
