Laker Film Room Episode Seven: Reviewing Brandon Ingram in Summer League

With the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft the Lakers selected Brandon Ingram, a 6’10” Small Forward out of Duke university. While he is only 18 years old, he was known by many NBA fans coming as one of the top prospects in the draft.

Many scouts and draft experts had Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram clearly at the top of their draft boards so the selection didn’t surprise anyone. But after enduring a tough season filled with losses, Lakers fans let out a sigh of relief as the Lakers made the selection. Picking Brandon made the season worth it and fans were rewarded.

In the seventh episode of Laker Film Room, friend of Lakers Outsiders, Pete Mayas analyzes how Brandon Ingram did in his first few games with a Lakers jersey on. The breakdown analyzes many aspects of Ingram’s game but focuses on how his length impacts how he plays, his offensive versatility, and his off-the-dribble and athletic deficiencies. He has shown many positive attributes and a couple negative ones, but overall he will be extremely fun to watch this season as he develops.
