Brandon Ingram to work out for Lakers on Thursday

The Lakers hold the second overall pick in the NBA Draft for the second consecutive year, and have started to do their due diligence on players they deem worthy of consideration. Jamal Murray and Henry Ellenson have already had their names tied to the Purple and Gold, but now the Lakers are working out another prospect they’ve had their eyes on.

Duke’s Brandon Ingram is set to have a private workout with the Lakers on Thursday, June 9, according to Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding. Ingram, along with Simmons, has been considered a top-two pick for months now, but with the Sixers leaning towards Ben Simmons, it seems that the former Duke star is destined to wind up in Los Angeles.

And with the small forward position being one of the Lakers’ weakest, Ingram seemingly could have a major role with the team from day one. He offers excellent shooting from behind the arc, and one-of-a-kind measurables, giving him great potential on both sides of the ball.

Now, the Lakers will get a chance to see it up close.
