This story legitimately won’t die. It would and probably should have if not for a certain Los Angeles Laker’s continued immaturity. Nick Young simply won’t let this thing go, and still seems convinced he’s the victim despite being, you know, an “alleged” adulterer.
Lil’ B made news a little more than a week ago by announcing the target of his next curse. Let’s skip the ridiculousness of a thoroughly mediocre (at best) rapper actually thinking himself capable of cursing professional athletes, but I have to hand it to him, it’s made more news than his music ever could.
Here’s the tweet in question, with a very notable potential target. Important note: The tweet has since been walked back, so thank the sweet Lord above for that.

Considering how few tweets Young has ever liked, it stands out he’d give the honor to the aforementioned mediocre rapper potentially cursing a teammate. D’Angelo Russell being a cornerstone of the franchise moving forward, one can only hope this is at least one of the final straws that breaks the camel’s back and the Lakers can finally move on from Young’s overwhelmingly annoying tenure in Los Angeles.
Rumors surfaced during the season that the Lakers would try to move Young in the offseason by trade if possible, but continued actions like this should ensure they’ll rid themselves of Swaggy P by any means necessary. The stretch provision comes to mind immediately, especially as the salary cap continues to rise, meaning the financial hit moving forward would be pretty minimal.
The Lakers are currently building around a young, impressionable core and Young has already shown himself to be a nuisance. His unwillingness to move on shows he isn’t particularly interested in changing his ways. This being the case, the Lakers should show Young the same door they showed Byron Scott, and for many of the same reasons.
