Byron Scott was fired on Sunday, April 24th, 2016. A date that is sure to be remembered by Lakers fans for a long while. The Lakers faithful had much to say about Scott’s dismissal, but the man himself had stayed quiet; until tonight.
KCAL 9’s Jim Hill got an exclusive interview with the former Lakers coach and player. What was shown to us was brief, but what Byron let on was telling. The interview included Kobe’s thoughts on Scott’s firing and how it all came to be.

The process of finding a new coach has already begun with the Lakers getting permission to interview former Lakers and now Spurs assistant, Ettore Messina. Luke Walton is their number one choice to take over after Scott, but the Lakers have a long list of candidates to interview for the vacant head coaching position.
