Good teams find ways to win games, and bad teams invent ways to lose them. Unfortunately for fans of the Los Angeles Lakers this season, the team has become exceptional at creating new ways to add another notch in the loss column.
In Kobe Bryant’s final trip to Indiana to take on the Pacers, he provided the entertainment once again in the fourth quarter. After struggling to hit shots all game, Kobe buried three consecutive threes to give the Lakers a 82-79 lead with just over two minutes to play. That lead extended by another point to 84-80, but it was Paul George who took over and sparked a 9-0 Indiana run in the span of a minute before Julius Randle knocked down a meaningless three at the buzzer to make it a final of 89-87.
The Lakers weren’t the only Los Angeles basketball team in action on Monday. Their NBA Developmental League affiliate, the D-Fenders, were in Boise, Idaho, to take on the Idaho Stampede. There we were able to get an up-close look at promising young big man, Robert Upshaw.
Gary, Harrison and Jacob sat down to discuss the Lakers’ tough defeat, Upshaw’s progress and update what happened among other teams at the top of the lottery standings.
